We travel each year to Italy for 6 to 8 weeks. We usually visit small towns and villages In April and May.Traffic tickets are becoming an increasingly bad problem.This past year We have been notified by our auto rental company that we have a charge for processing three tickets that they have been notified of. I know in the past when we have gotten tickets we have been notified directly from the commune or city and somehow had to figure out how to pay them.In our past experiences usually takes 6 to 9 months to actually get the tickets from the city or commune.How concerned should we be about actually paying these tickets in light of the fact that we go to Italy each year

I doubt that anyone will prevent you from coming to Italy or even renting a car. However, if you don't pay, your account will probably be turned over to a collection agency that will hound you for several years. I also received a traffic ticket near Pisa and wondered what would happen if I didn't pay, and this caused me to do a lot of research and write five blogs on various aspects of the topic. I ended up paying, but I have a friend who did not, and he shared his experience with me.
