Can I use Italian appliances in the UK

No problem at all, just change the plugs. Washing machine may take longer to heat up though!!

@ Brianm. What I meant was that the heater in a Italian machine is probably lower than a UK one, so it may take the washing machine longer to get to temp!!

Not sure It is cost effective to take that sort of stuff back to Blighty, unless you have a large van planned already, probably easier to flog locally before you go, but then I don't know your circumstances.. we've just taken the plunge, but in the other direction!!

You will either have to change the plugs or use an adaptor.  We have moved a couple of times and found the answer in purchasing a few of the multi outlet strips  and then only one plug per three or four appliances need to be changed.
