Ciao tutti

I am an English female originally from Manchester in the UK but have lived here for 18 months.  I have always loved Italy and with the onset of a midlife crisis gave up and my job and arrived alone in Naples on a wet and windy day not knowing anyone and with no work to come to.  Now I live in Rome, work as a freelance writer, editor and teacher,  still learning the language and adjusting to the culture.  I have started a blog at www.samanthacollinsrome.blogspot.com if anyone would like to read about the real experience of living here!  Comments welcome.

Hi Samantha and welcome. My, your don't do things by halves especially Napoli as your first port of call. Glad that you have got to grips with Bella Italia and hope you enjoy the forum; very useful if you have a problem or question as populate by people with vast range of talents....most of which are of some use..

Wow that does sound exciting!  I too am from the north west but only visited Rome for the first time for a few days last month, you can see my trip report somewhere in the Rome section... you can tell me what I really should have seen that I didn't...welcome, look forward to hearing more about Roma which seemed to be hotting up, as well as getting a tad crowded, when we left on 24th May...

Thanks for the notes of welcome.  It is strange but I am really craving fish and chips, with mushy peas and a bread bun this evening.  Maybe with a dandelion and burdock and an episode of Coronation Street.  Try explaining that to the locals!
