This is the law now. You will definitely need to talk with your commercialista to see if there are any special circumstances that affect your particular situation, but yes, ICI has been abolished for prime case. Thanks Uncle Silvio!

I understand that ICI is still payable on luxury properties even if they are your "prima casa". Also, non-residents must pay ICI even if it is your only property in Italy..It would be advisable to check with a "commercialista". 

Thank you to all for advice.  It is not a luxury property and by the end of August I should be a resident ie inscribed in the anagrafe.  Why does it have to be so complicated?  A bill for the amount required would be so much more simple - like the water or refuse bills!Thank you again.

 No ICI required for A2 if resident.
