Quality Italian courses
Our language courses in small groups (maximum 8 students per class, but 4/5 on average) are lerner centred and built around the students and around their previously acquired knowledge and linguistic competence. Our primary focus is to improve language for communication so that, once out of classes, students can be able to cope with the most different day-to-day communicative situations. You will learn the correct Italian for the correct situation.
In our lessons we always try to combine professionalism with liveliness, method with lightness of touch, efficacy with flexibility so that everyone can feel at ease and leave behind the stress that the learning of a foreign language sometimes involves.
Culturforum offers programmes at all levels from absolute beginners to very advanced, allowing you to choose from among individual, semi-individual, small group classes, and if you wish to gain the maximum benefit from your study-holiday in Italy, intensive programmes.
The school offers a number of seminars on specific subjects which can be combined with your language course, but can also be booked independently. The goal of these seminars is not only the study of the language but also an in- depth discussion of topics relating to diverse aspects of the history, culture, literature, art, language or society of Italy and Sicily.
We offer a great variety of topics from the History of Sicily, or History of Italy after unification, History of the Italian language, Art History to more actual themes like the History of the Mafia.

Cefalu, pearl in the Mediterranean
Cefalù, a delightful medieval town famous for its long beach of golden sand, the deep blue of the sea and its typical Mediterranean atmosphere with a hint of Arabian mystery, is the charming resort in Western Sicily.
The warm bright colours and the magnificent setting: beautiful small coves, creeks and beaches, sheer rocky cliffs which descend to the sea attract people from all over the world. Nature's wonders are counterbalanced by man's creations the most impressive of which is the Arabo-Norman cathedral located in the very heart of the town.
It is this perfect and harmonious synthesis between nature and art which makes Cefalù a truly unique spot. Spend the day strolling along the tiny alleys of the medieval town centre. Here you can experience the pulse of everyday life.
In the fish restaurants along the promenade or in the small trattorias hidden away in the alleys and courtyards you will discover Sicilian cuisine, which mirrors the colours and the creative joie de vivre of its people.
Deep in the island's mountainous interior is the lush Madonie National Park, which offers endless opportunities for walking and excursions. Here you can enjoy breathtaking views of Mount Etna and the Aeolian Islands and you will discover small villages nestled on the mountain slopes or crowning the summits, where people still live as in times gone by.
The sun, the clear sea, the unspoilt natural environment, the artistic treasures and the warm hospitality of the people make Cefalù the ideal place to combine learning Italian with a relaxing and enjoyable holiday.Sicily.
Five thousand years of history at your fingertips
Blessed by sun throughout the year and set in crystal clear waters, with its strong and fascinating contrasts, the variety of its natural scenery and its wild beauty Sicily has always enchanted visitors. Its strategic position in the middle of the Mediterranean has attracted invaders and colonizers who all have left so many impressive buildings, amazing monuments and unique works of art on the island that Sicily has been called open air museum.
Sicily can boast some 6000 years of history, which is attested by its extremely rich and varied artistic and architectural heritage: Greek Temples, Punic cities, Roman villas, ancient theathers and amphitheathers, delightful Arabic dwellings, stunning Norman cathedrals, sumptuous baroque towns, neoclassical theatres and lovely art nouveau villas.
Travelling across Sicily, one can discover and enjoy the history, myths and legends of an ancient civilisation and of a land still today swinging between East and West, between Europe and Africa.
