Experience - GrapeHops - Gastro Tours for Small Groups
Are you interested in exploring the regional food and wine of Venice? Or the craft beer renaissance and accompanying food scene in Piedmont? If so, a GrapeHops tour is for you.
Craft Beer in Milan and Piedmont
The craft beer scene in Italy - though relatively unknown to the rest of the world - is a vibrant and creative one. Since most people think of wine when they think of Italy - , it is not hard to understand why - most people do not know about the amazing craft beer scene there. is changing in Italy. is common to see businessmen in Rome "uncorking" a bottle of craft beer from Le Baladin - a craft brewery in Piozzo, Piedmont - instead of wine at a business lunch. Craft beer in Italy is exciting, interesting, creative and well-made. The craft beer movement in Italy is a renaissance in every sense of the word.
Our Craft Beer Tour of Milan (home of the excellent Birrificio Lambrate, one of the first craft brewers in Italy) and Piedmont (where the craft beer renaissance in Italy started) is a beer-packed, enlightening and fun adventure. We visit several craft breweries and talk to the brewers about their personal philosophies while tasting many wonderful, artisan beers. We also visit a cheese producer, participate in a pizza cooking class, historical towns, and spend time in the gorgeous city of Torino. Not to mention all the wonderful meals we will eat, accompanied by and prepared with craft beer, of course.
For those interested in craft beer and the people, and local foods that go with it, our beer tour of Italy will be an eye opening, not to mention delicious, experience.
Eating, Drinking and Walking Your Way through Venice
Venice is one of the most beautiful cities in the world, but - until recently - has been given an unfair rap about the quality of its food. Venice has excellent restaurants and bars, wonderful fresh produce from the region, amazing seafood and great cheeses, and a plethora of places to try all this out - accompanied by excellent local wines, of course.
One of GrapeHops leaders, Shannon Essa, co-wrote a book (Chow! Venice) on eating and drinking in Venice and knows the back streets, and best places to stop for a glass of wine and a snack, throughout the city. You will visit some off the beaten track areas, taste some great local wines, and eat a lot of excellent meals. Our trip to Venice is the food, the wine, and the local's way of living to walk off a couple of feasts.
We also offer a customized wine, beer and food tour of Piedmont and wine and food tours in northwest Spain. For more details visit our website, and do not hesitate to get in touch with us with any questions!
