You will all know that an Italian wouldn’t dream of beginning a meal without wishing everyone else at the table “Buon appetito” – the equivalent of saying, “Enjoy your meal” - but do you know how to reply?
You can, of course, say “Buon appetito” back but you can also say, “Grazie, altrettanto”, which is the equivalent of saying, “The same to you”.
