World Title to Italian figure skater Carolina Kostner

Last week, Carolina Kostner won the gold medal at the ISU 2012 World Figure Skating Championships in Nice with a new personal best of 128.94 in Saturday's free skate jumping from third to first in the overall standings.

She showed a beautiful 2Axel 3Toe Loop combination as well as four other flawless triple jumps and received high levels for her spins and steps. She won with a total of 189.94 points ahead of Alena Leonova (RUS) and Akiko Suzuki (JPN).

The 25-year-old Kostner has three other World medals (2008 silver, 2005 and 2011 bronze) and is also a four-time European champion (2007, 2008, 2010, 2012), the 2011–12 Grand Prix Final champion, the 2003 World Junior bronze medalist, and a six-time Italian champion.

This season has been incredible for her - with a Gold at the Grand Prix Final and another European title, she now adds a World title to her accomplishments and ends the season as n. 1 of the ISU World rankings.

But besides her titles and athletic achievements, she is particularly loved in Italy for her grace and elegant style which make this talented athlete a true artist. Congratulations Carolina - We are so proud!
