This year, Italians are going crazy for record-breaking foods. Usually more interested in quality, Italy is focusing on quantity and landing several Guinness World Records along the way.

First came the world’s largest gelato, and then a 660 meter torrone. Now, the world’s largest bottle of wine has been entered into the record books.

The 2.6 meter bottle is 80 centimeters in diameter and holds the 510 liters of wine. The world’s largest bottle of vino is in Dolegna del Collio, and so appropriately filled with Friulano Doc Collio wine. 30 of the best wineries in the Friuli-Venezia Giulia region donated their 2009 vintages to fill the massive bottle.

After being entered into the official record book, there was only one way for the winemakers of Dolegna to celebrate - with a toast.
