| Wed, 04/13/2011 - 07:17

Summer school may conjure images of childhood days spent in the classroom instead of out in the sun, but Italian universities are looking to attract foreign students with the promise of summertime learning in Rome.

La Sapienza is offering Italian language summer school to international students who are seeking to learn more about la bella lingua as well as Italian culture.

La Sapienza is the largest university in Europe and the oldest of all Rome’s public colleges. Founded in 1303, the historic school offers a modern emersion program that immerses students in language and cultural studies. The Summer School schedule takes breaks from grammar exercises to tour Rome’s most important artistic sites. Upon completion, students will receive six units of university credit.

The courses will run from 20 June to 16 July, but applications are due by 30 April 2011. For more information visit La Sapienza’s Summer School website.
