As the sole sponsor of the Louvre’s latest exhibition on Leonardo da Vinci, the Italian fashion house, Salvatore Ferragamo, has been granted the historic opportunity to show its Resort 2013 collection inside the walls of the Louvre.

On the 12th of June, the fashion house will put on a catwalk show stretching 120 metres beneath the arches of the Denon peristyle surrounding the Louvre. While other runway shows have taken place in the Louvre’s courtyard in front of the glass pyramid, Ferragamo will be the first fashion house to show its designs inside the museum.

The exhibition sponsored by Ferragamo, Saint Anne, Leonardo da Vinci’s Ultimate Masterpiece, which will open on the 29th of March and be on view until the 25th of June, features the great Renaissance master’s The Virgin and Child with Saint Anne.

In response to the prestigious opportunity to show the collection inside the museum, the company chairman Ferruccio Ferragamo stated: “Endless creativity, an innovative aesthetic, artisanal roots, and groundbreaking research have always characterised the Italian genius, as embodied by Leonardo da Vinci, that we have always appreciated”.

The show will be followed by an exclusive dinner and a private tour of the Museum.
