Italian athletes will surely be the best-dressed team at the 2012 Summer Olympic games in London. The Italian Olympic Committee has been announced that Giorgio Armani will dress the national team.

Despite Italy’s wealth of luxury fashion houses, the partnership marks the first time a top designer has outfitted the Olympic team. Armani has previously designed the Italian flag-bearer costumes for the opening ceremony of the 2006 Turin Winter Olympic games.

Giorgio Armani founded the Armani Group in 1975 and has since be declared the most successful designer to come of out Italy.

A ceremony will be held on the 20th of July to reveal more about the partnership and design plans.
