Portofino has always been a favorite dock spot among the rich and famous, but Catherine Zeta-Jones and Michael Douglas recently jumped ship for a day of cooking in Rapallo.

The famous couple headed to specialty shop ParlaComeMangi to learn how to make fresh pasta and Pesto alla Genovese.

Douglas made the detour because he wanted to learn the secret behind pansotti, which he had first tried at New York’s Italian gastronomic experience Eataly.

Pansotti are Ligurian stuffed pastas usually served with a walnut sauce.

The two stars stocked up on Italian treats like truffles, mozzarella di bufala, organic jams and rosé wine before making their way back to their yacht, with Douglas declaring that Italy’s kitchen would save him from any crisis.
