Acclaimed Italian tenor Fabio Armiliato will perform at London’s Wigmore Hall on 14 January as part of the Rosenblatt Recitals series.

Armiliato performs at the Rosenblatt Recitals following his role in Woody Allen’s romantic comedy set in Rome, ‘To Rome With Love’ that was released in 2012. Armiliato played the character of Giancarlo in the film, who is a mortician with a fantastic operatic voice that he only feels comfortable exercising while taking a shower. Armiliato received rave reviews for his interpretation of the talented but shy family man.

A regular on the world’s leading opera stages, Armiliato makes a highly anticipated visit to the series after he had to withdraw last year because of illness. He is recognised as one of the leading tenors of his generation, and is known for his high register and connate musicality.

With a programme almost exclusively composed of Italian works, including arias from Giuseppe Pietri’s ‘Maristella’, Giacomo Puccini’s ‘La Fanciulla del West’ (The Girl of the West) and ‘Tosca’, Francesco Cilea’s ‘Adriana Lecouvreur’ and Giuseppe Verdi’s ‘Otello’ (Othello), the recital will be a chance to hear a specialist of the Italian repertoire.

The price of tickets ranges from £12 to £26. The recital will be recorded for broadcast by Sky Arts in 2013.
