Italy’s Civil Service Minister Renato Brunetta has inaugurated the ninth edition of “Scala incontra New York” [“Scala Meets New York”] in Scala, the oldest town on the Amalfi coast, reports ANSA.

The colloquium, which commemorates the attack on the Twin Towers in 2001, will bring together prominent journalists, politicians and musicians from the two countries.

There will be discussions, conferences and cultural events on the theme of light and how to bring peace and light into a world full of darkness and hatred.

The key event will be a concert by Andrea Bocelli on 2nd September.
