Malcesine (Veneto)

Malcesine is a town on the eastern shore of Lake Garda, in the Province of Verona. Two of the largest islands of Lake Garda are located in Malcesine: The Isola di sogno and the Isola dell'olivo (or Isola degli olivi). Malcesine's most prominent landmark is the Castello Scaligero, which has 13th-century fortifications and an older medieval tower in white natural stone. Like the castle of Sirmione at the southern end of the lake, it is named for the della Scala family of Verona who ruled the region in the 13th and 14th centuries, and has the characteristic swallow-tail Ghibelline merlon crenallations. Remnants of an Etruscan tomb have been found within the castle walls. Most of the structures visible today date to the period of the della Scala. The bell of the castle was cast in 1442 and it is still in service.

Who knew giblets could make something this good? Though this sauce is made of oft-discarded poultry parts, it’s a refined delicacy with deep, rich flavor.

Recipes

Wrap your hands around a bowl of pasta e fasoi, Venetian-style pasta, and bean soup, rich and nourishing and as murky as La Serenissima herself but much better-tasting.

Recipes

A beloved classic from Venice, this dish is perfect for spring when fresh peas abound and can easily be adapted for vegetarians.

Recipes

Bigoli (or bigoi in the Veneto dialect) are a thick, spaghetti-like pasta typical of the Veneto and eastern Lombardy.

How to travel from Marco Polo Airport to the Venice Mestre train terminal?

Buongiorno,

Anybody has experience trying to improve the energetic rating of a condo or house? Mine is rated G (lowest) and I wonder what renovations to do first, to achieve a better energetic rating. Somebody suggested adding a "wall" in front of the wall that faces the outside.
