From January 24 to January 27, Arte Fiera transforms Bologna into a party town focused on culture, making the capital of Emilia-Romagna a central point of reference for contemporary art in Italy and abroad.

Arte Fiera is the largest event in Italy dedicated to modern and contemporary art. It features 2,000 works, 1,100 Italian and international artists, 171 galleries (+27% compared to 2013) and more than 200 exhibitors, making this year’s edition the largest so far.

Arte Fiera comprises five sections: Modern and Contemporary Art, Solo show, Focus on Eastern Europe, Photography and New Proposals; exhibitors also include more than 30 publishing houses, as well as bookshops specializing in art and museums.

Exhibits include “La Grande Magia. Selected Works from the UniCredit Art Collection, Magical Routes,” at MAMbo - Bologna Museum of Modern Art, an homage to Morandi on the 50th anniversary of his death, with shows by Tacita Dean, “The Studio of Giorgio Morandi” and by Rachel Whiteread, “Study for Room;” an exhibition on 19th century art at the Pinacoteca Nazionale, “'800B. L'Ottocento a Bologna nelle Collezioni del MAMbo e della Pinacoteca Nazionale,” and many other exhibitions on display at several cultural venues around Bologna, such as Genus Bononiae, Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio in Bologna, Fondazione del Monte di Bologna e Ravenna, MAST and CUBO, making the entire city a sort of large metropolitan museum.

On Saturday, the event Art City White Night features the special opening of historical palaces, urban spaces, art galleries and shops until midnight.
