Johnny Depp wants to become mayor of Bagheria, Sicily.
Well, not the real Johnny Depp, but his lookalike, Antonino Restivo, who has come up with a very original election campaign which plays on his resemblance to the famous American actor.
In his campaign commercials, Restivo, of the center-left SEL party, has used images of the real Depp, put next to Restivo’s electoral program. Thus, for example, the pirate Jack Sparrow stresses respect for the sea and protection of the environment, while Edward Scissorhands guarantees a decisive cut to inefficient spending.
Johnny Depp didn't help though: elections were held yesterday and Restivo only placed third.
