MyGelato: The First App for Gelato Lovers

App for gelato lovers

It could be described as “the world’s yummiest app” – MyGelato is the app dedicated to lovers of artisan gelato worldwide, helping users around the world to enjoy and have fun with gelato.

The app has been developed by Carpigiani, the world’s leading company for the production of gelato machines, based in Anzola dell’Emilia (Bologna), which ITALY Magazine had the pleasure to visit several times, to attend a few gelato masterclasses at the Carpigiani Gelato University (yes, a university for gelato – gelato making is an art!), and check out the fascinating Gelato Museum Carpigiani.

How MyGelato works:

Download the app (available for iPhone and Android) – MyGelato – it’s free!

-Check the Gelato Map. If you have a sudden urge to eat gelato, you can easily locate the gelato shops (gelaterie) closest to you; the map will also show you which shops are part of the 'MyGelato Network' to redeem your digital 'Gelato Coupons' (see below).

-Give a gelato or receive one! This is perhaps the coolest feature of the app: with the digital 'Gelato Coupons', you can give or receive a gelato, to be purchased within the gelato shops of MyGelato Network. Just head to the gelateria with your smartphone and show the coupon to the gelatiere – no need to print anything.

-Stay up-to-date with the latest offers, new flavors and special events of your favorite gelato shops in the network.

-Discover news and anecdotes about the world of gelato thanks to a one-of-a-kind guide: the mastro gelatiere, your gelato teacher! Do you know when gelato was invented? Are you familiar with the Gelato Museum? Have you heard of the Gelato World Tour, the ‘Formula One of artisan gelato’? You can find out about this and more thanks to the app.

-Have a little fun: change the look of the app according to your mood – see which flavors best match your personality!

Finally, you can also take part in the game ‘Gelato for Life’, for a chance to win a free gelato every day for 10 years.

Sounds 'yummy', doesn’t it?!
