Italy may very well be the country of the passeggiata! Be it in the historic center of town on a Sunday afternoon, along a seaside promenade on a warm summer night, or high up in the woods amid beautiful mountains, Italians love to go for a walk!

Vado a fare una passeggiata = I’m going for a walk

Hai voglia di fare una passeggiata? = do you feel like going for a stroll?

Una passeggiata is also an idiomatic expression, meaning ‘piece of cake’.
