Amici di Italy Magazine,
This week we talked to two incredible men who set an example through their hard work and integrity.
The first one is Father Alexander, from la Porziuncola in Assisi, who is the first Friar to receive a major record deal and the first man from a religious order to top the UK classical chart as a solo artist with his extraordinary singing voice. In accordance with Friar Alessandro's personal vow of poverty, all his recording proceeds go directly to charity.
The second Italian man who got our attention is Salvatore Cimmino, a marathon swimmer who is one of the World Open Water Swimming Association nominees for the Man of the Year 2012 title. With his "Swimming in the Seven Seas of the Globe" project he increases public awareness about the day-to-day difficulties faced by the disabled and explains the need for making the best prosthetic aids available to everyone in need around the world.
Finally, with the festive season approaching, we suggested how to choose the right Italian wines for your parties and took you to the town of Battaglia Terme in the Veneto, where they prepare a floating nativity scene on the town's canal.
We take this opportunity to let you know that we are currently working on a new version of the website, to be launched soon. We cannot wait to unveil the new Italy Magazine Website in 2013!
A presto!
