Ciao a tutti,

Our current collection of stories is very much a trip through Italian history. We start way back - when Siracuse was a leading port of Ancient Greece and counted Archimedes as one of its citizens. Read about Archimedes in Siracuse and see how we managed to connect it to President Obama and the US-based Mythbusters show via the burning mirror experiment!

We then fast-forward a couple of thousand years to get to the the birth of Italy itself - an event that is this year celebrating its 150th birthday. We present it as a dual language article so you can get your fill of history and Italian language in one go.

Finally, San Remo - the yearly Italian week-long music festival extravaganza - could not be left out. A lot of Italy's memorable pop culture moments took place on the stages of this famous festival. This year the best songs dedicated to Italy are celebrated so check the article out for links to YouTube clips of all those.

Arrivederci!

Borgo Belvederi

Borgo Belvederi is a magnificent and secluded ancient hamlet, nestled on top of a green hill about 2 miles from the city of Camerino, in Le Marche.

Overlooking the valley, the eight homes of the Borgo offer five-star accommodation in a unique setting, not far from the sandy beaches of the Adriatic, the tall Sibillini mountains and some of the most famous cities of art of Central Italy.

Enjoy the large scenic pool, or wander around the Borgo and its surrounding chestnut forest. Discover the nearby picturesque villages, ancient retreats, ghost towns and medieval castles, or just relax by the small piazza sipping our own label wine.
