Ciao a tutti,

This week Italy Magazine started with an interview with Gino, born in Italy he was forced to leave his hometown soon after World War II, but with the wish to go back - which he finally fulfilled many years later.

When you move to Italy it may happen that your culinary tastes change and you might enjoy the change as it happened to Rowena who fell in love in Turin and shares her "tasty" tale with us.

What does the expression "Che mondo sarebbe senza Nutella?" remind you?
Many Italians have grown up with this slogan advertising Nutella on TV. Due to an EU law, the mouthwatering chocolate spread risks to have health warnings on the packaging if its content isn't modified.

Also, this week Italy Magazine inaugurated a new interesting column that, with the help of our writer Pat Eggleton, will bring you in a cine-journey into the best romantic movies set in Italy. The first of this series is dedicated to Eat, Pray, Love a film based on Elizabeth Girlbert's best-seller and featuring Julia Roberts.

We are open to suggestions, write to us! Or share your favorite Italian film or film set in Italy on Facebook.

Arrivederci!

Abruzzo... The Land of the Samnites by Maria Richards

The rugged landscape of Abruzzo was part of the Samnium region, once occupied and controlled by mountain warriors. Some 2,500 years ago, an ancient civilisation with an advanced political structure for their time, were the envy of the Romans who tried to destroy everything possible about their enemies and first Gladiators. Samnites used the war like games during festivities as a showcase for attracting beautiful girls.
