This week the world was focused on Rome as everyone was waiting for the announcement of the new Pope. Luckily, we did not have to wait long as on Thursday night Pope Francis I introduced Himself to millions of people around the globe. Do you know how to introduce yourself in Italian? With the classic Milan-Sanremo cycle race approaching, Gino De Blasio looked at the amazing history of one of cycling's most historic races and recounted the time a young Fausto Coppi stopped for a coffee while going on to win the race in an unprecedented style.

The recent horse meat scandal which has been in the headlines didn't spare Italy. Although, equine meat has been a traditional ingredient in many regional Italian delicacies, now many Italians seem to see their equine friends more as domestic pets. We explored the changing tradition of eating horse meat and Italy's stronger love for horses.

For our interviews series, Carol King spoke to the director of the highly acclaimed film 'Gomorrah' Matteo Garrone about his latest movie 'Reality' starring a former mafia hit man that will be released in the United States on 15 March and in the UK on 22 March.
