We elected this week to be Italy Magazine's "Pasta Week". We started with John Bensalhia's article looking at the origins of this much-loved Italian food and at some of the notable techniques in producing a top-class product.

Barry Lillie took us through a journey around the pasta producing area in the Abbruzzo region, telling us the secrets of pasta making in Fara San Martino and introducing us to the history of Mastri Pastai Abbruzzesi, from world famous De Cecco to Cavaliere Cocco, the official pasta supplier to the Vatican, Armani's restaurants and the Presidential Palace in Italy.

Finally, a simple recipe of one of Italy's most renowned pasta dishes: Penne all'Arrabbiata.
