Amici di Italy Magazine,
The months of October and November mark the Olive Harvest season in Italy. It is a very busy time of the year where the magic of turning olives into "liquid gold", as Omer defined extra-virgin olive oil, takes place.
Nicola Ferlei-Brown explored the Olive Oil Alchemy visiting the Umbrian hilltop village of Montefalco where she sampled some of the finest extra-virgin olive oils produced in the region.
This week she also interviewed Tina Cancemi, a Japanese-Italian businesswoman who runs the Italian end of her business Olivo from the Roman 'foodie friendly' neighbourhood of Testaccio. Her company caters to the Japanese market by exporting high quality Olive Oil from Italy to Japan, to be sold in their Olivo stores and The Cantina Cancemi, a casual eatery serving delicious Italian food in Tokyo.
The latest James Bond movie, and 23rd release in the series, Skyfall, starring Daniel Craig marks the 50th anniversary of the second most successful and longest-running film franchise in cinema history. Julie Burns explored 007 links to Italy, from producer Cubby Broccoli to wonderful Italian locations, from villains to charming Italian Bond girls.
A presto!
