Amici di Italy Magazine,
"Mangia bene, vivi meglio!" (Eat well, live better!) is Eataly's motto. Following the success of the stores in New York and across Japan, Eataly, the largest outlet dedicated to Italian food in the world, opened in Rome. A brainchild of Oscar Farinetti, this 80 million euro investment transformed Rome's Ostiense train station into a food court spanning 17,000 square metres over four floors, selling seasonal, local, top notch Italian products. Nicola Ferlei-Brown explained the "what", "why" and "where" of this project.
And talking about "mangiar bene e vivere meglio", Julie Burns interviewed celebrity chef Aldo Zilli, one of the first to introduce authentic Italian food to London in the '70s, and healthy food specialist. His expertise has led him out of the kitchen and into the world of current affairs - from discussing food waste to mentoring the homeless.
Finally, as Christmas approaches, Carol King selected the top 10 Christmas markets in Italy which offer gift ideas, decorations, local handicrafts and - best of all - festive food and wine.
A presto!
