This year's grape harvest began at the beginning of August in Italy, a full 30 days earlier than the harvest 30 years ago. But September and October are still the two months mostly associated with winemaking and grape harvest. This is why this week we decided to explore "il mondo del vino".

Mark Trevor Collinson visited Podere Castorani acquired in 1999 by former F1 pilot Jarno Trulli in his wonderful Abruzzo. They talked about his passion for the art of winemaking and Montepulciano d'Abruzzo DOC.

News affecting everyone with property in Italy. To everyone's surprise, it now appears that each property-owner must give separate notice to the relevant Comune declaring that they are the owner of the property for IMU purposes.

The deadline was 30 September - as the Government itself hasn't got round to producing the forms on which the notice is to be given, they will be postponing the deadline, probably until the end of the year.
