Un ciao a tutti,
Halloween is coming up, and while this is a holiday best enjoyed where its natural home is, the USA, there is one town in Italy that can compete with the best of preparations across the US. For the past 21 years the small town of Venzone in Friuli Venezia Giulia has put up an amazing pumpkin festival. Along the streets of the old medieval town you can watch medieval arts and crafts demonstrations and there are countless opportunities to sample various pumpkin dishes and be entertained by musicians, jugglers and story-tellers.

This is certainly not an easy question and one for which many books have been written. Nevertheless, John Bensalhia does a great job at giving us the high level overview with this article.
Autumn is a great time to visit the lakes of Italy and this week we take a look at one of the lesser known ones. Lake Orta, in Piedmont, is a lake modest in size but rich in both natural beauty and historical towns. Richard Zahra shares his account.
Arrivederci!
