Amici di Italy Magazine,
Summer holidays are now over and Italian kids are getting ready to go back to school. So this week we focused one special teachers and teaching methods.
We honored Maria Montessori's 142nd birth anniversary, on the 31st of August, with a special Italy's Treasures feature dedicated to the remarkable achievement of this lady and her revolutionary teaching methods which are still used in many Montessori schools around the world.
Then, we looked at how Italians cope with learning English, with Carol King's interview to John Peter Sloan, who wrote the fastest selling English-language course in Italy. He explained how he manages to make learning a language fun using humour, role play and theatre.
Finally, as there is nothing better to learn about history and geography than traveling and visiting historical sites, we published Wynne Crombie's account of her experience visiting Ostia Antica, known as "the other Pompeii".
A presto!
