Amici di Italy Magazine,
This week we have a special favor to ask all of you. We are always looking to improve ITALY magazine and have put together a reader survey that would help us immensely. In order to say thank you for filling it in we are offering everyone a free PDF recipe book that you can download at the end of the survey and for one lucky winner we will sent a luxury hamper of Italian goodies.

We think that there is no better way to truly delve into the country's culture while you are visiting than going to a sagra (food festival), to the opera, to a religious procession or even a sport event. This is why at the beginning of every season, we prepare a list of events to help you planning your visit, so do not miss our latest guide to What's On in Italy Fall/Autumn 2013.
This week we also chose a special event to focus on, San Gennaro feast, which is celebrated every September 19 in Naples, where phials of the saint's blood are worshipped. Gino De Blasio looked into the mystery of San Gennaro and how important he is to Italian Catholic devotees.
And in true Italian style, from a religious celebration we moved straight into a sagra, afood festival, and talked about "mortadella". As the 7th annual International Festival of Mortadella, called Mortadella Please, begins on the 20th of September in a town just outside Bologna, Silvia Donati explored the history of this incredible "salume".
Next week do not miss the chance to find out more about Sciacchetrà and Moscato D'Asti, two interesting wines produced in the North Western area of Italy.
This year we created a 2013 Italy Magazine desktop wallpaper calendar. We hope you liked the idea and downloaded the first months. It is now possible to download the October page.
A presto!
