Just curious to know what people are paying for large-scale grass cutting in a rural area? We've got about 6000m2 of which 4000m2 is meadow and the rest (at present) relatively unlooked after rough grass around the house- not a proper lawn as such. I've just bought a petrol brush cutter (decespugliatore ) so we just need a big machine to come in and do the maij area and we can fiddle with the nooks and crannies! last year we were away so a neighbour organised it and it came to €165, which seemed steep but maybe isn't...? Also for rural grass which just needs a cut as a fire preventing measure when is the best time to cut?

Grass cutting - TuscanyWe paid 45e per hour to the local digger man here in Tuscany who came last September when the grass was high. He had a tractor and cleared and removed all the grass cuttings. Area was about 3 hectares of rough grassy fields = 30,000 m2 and he did this in 10 hours.it's important to keep the grass down in case of fire.
