second hand shops dontreally exist due to the tax situation. You would be better off getting on the internet and looking on subito.it or on facebook lìpages like vendo compro for your area.   

Modi is certainly right that subito is a good place to look, but there are at least one or two second hand shops around and about Mercatino Dell'usato seems to be popping up in a number of areas. However we also have what I would call a second hand motor scooter shop, but it seems it sells just as many bikes by the looks of it.
