I am an American with Italian roots whose values and outlook reflects both nations. Originally from Boston, I studied abroad in Rome for four years because I wanted to immerse myself in another culture, now I think of Italy as home. I have embraced what Americans so often dream about when they go on holiday to Italy; slow cooked authentic meals, wine to be savored and the magic of twisted coble stone streets. My interests are focused on Italian culture and environment, including “Slow Food and Wine” as a means to safeguard Italian regional culinary traditions. I love to travel, explore new locations through cooking classes, wine tastings, as well as cultural events. In addition to outdoor activities such as equestrian, boating and hiking.

From my undergraduate degree in communication I earned skills in writing and editing with a focus on Italian culture, food and tourism. Most importantly my four years of studies in Rome showed me places and traditions throughout the country, which should be promoted, valued and preserved. My professional experiences include editing travel literature for the Rome Side Trips iPhone/ iPad application, managing the twitter account for the emergency department at the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, writing for a conservation publication, and overseeing the visualization for a multi national sustainable fishing project.I am interested in working in international travel consultancy as an Italy expert because I enjoy researching and planning trips, as well as sharing advice on the best ways to experience places that I have been. In addition I would like to write articles about what I discover while exploring Italy as a way of promoting the culture, guiding others through the country and overall preserving traditional Italy.
