Place to visit
Trullo Oasis is located in Ceglie Messapica. Ceglie Messapica is a foodies delight as it is not only one of the restaurant capitals of Italy but is also host to a Cooking School and Ceglie Food Festival run in August every year.
As the capital of gastronomy, Ceglie Messapica has a rich territory surrounding the town and the restaurant owners pride themselves in growing their own vegetables, producing their own special dishes direct from the rich earth just as fishermen on the coast supply the seafood restaurants, Ceglie’s restaurants are supplied from the soil.
Beyond Ceglie Messapica you have scope to visit many of the surrounding towns and villages which are a point of interest historically and esthetically as many have attained the title of the most beautiful villages in Italy, such as Locorotondo and Cisternino. A visit to Puglia should include the UNESCO site Alberobello.
Further afield of Ceglie Messapica there are many interesting coastal towns such as Lecce on the Adriatic Sea or Gallipoli on the Ionian side of Puglia.
