TIM Base pay-as-you-go mobile phone SIM cards

This used to be the case a couple of years ago but not anymore I believe. What you do have to do is to make at least one top-up in a 12 month period. This only has to be for the minimum amount. I've mobiles with both TIM and Vodafone. Did'nt top up my Vodafone for over a year and the sim was cancelled. Was, however, credited with the outstanding balance to a new sim card.

I have found that the best way is to send a text to someone. It uses a tiny bit of credit, but not as much as a phone call, but it seems to be all the activity they need!

We usually make sure that we text our Italian friend every now and again when we are back in England to make sure that our credit stays on our Italian mobile. It is a "Wind" sim rather than a "Tim" one, but we think it works the same way in respect of keeping our credit instead of losing it all.

we have had same SIM cards for a number of years.  They just need to be topped off (credit added), once per year.  Phone will work to receive calls 12 months from last credit and can make outgoing up to 13 months - so you  can top off.regards,
