Beware an Alsatian

10/30/2009 - 09:02

For those of you, who walk dogs around the San Ruffino tracks. There is an Italian Woman who sometimes has been seen there with an Alsatian, quite often not on a lead. On Tuesday this week, when a friend of ours was walking his greyhound ( on a lead ), this dog attacked it for no reason at all. The greyhound had to be taken to the vet and have numerous stitches involving nearly 4 hours of treatment. It is thought that she lives close to the San Ruffino bridge. Will update if I hear any further.

Its is one of our regular walks as you know, so thanks for the information and really hope the greyhound recovers quickly, they are such lovely dogs. Dread to think who would come off worse in a fight though, Jessie or the alsatian.

As it is always the case, it is the owner who is at fault and not the animal, even if he seems to be quite agressive. I think that perhaps it needs to be reported to the police because dangerous animals must be kept on a lead and wear a muzzle.I do hope that the greyhound will recover soon, what will be more difficult is to make him forget the attack.
