Rhodes across Italy

Just noticed that on the Good Food Channel website there are 28 videos (albeit with adverts) of some of the recipes / demonstrations as well so those of you outside the Uk can hopefully get a taste of where he visited. (pun intended!). Chris

That's really interesting! Each episode features a different region of Italy with its traditions and local products. cannot wait to watch all of them!  ho già voglia di cucinare! What's your favourite recipe?

I've recently seen the episode where Gary Rhodes goes to Sicily! I simply loved the part where Katia Amore (hope I well understood the name) and her Cooking school was shown. Not only the great recipe with chocolate fascinated me, but also the stunning beauty of the city seen in the video. I want to go there....:-)

Yet again Abruzzo is overlooked, though I must admit that Abruzzese food lacks variety and imagination. Abruzzo does have exceedingly good oil and wines, so just for those alone it would have been worth a visit.... plus beautiful mountains and people. 

  Watched the Emilia Romagna epsiode last night and it was fairly enjoyable. Some of it was based in Bologna, a city that I love, and of particular interest was the visit to a Aceto Balsamico farm where barrels of the black nectar had been laid down for years - there seemed to be a lot dating from 1969. In the owner's farmhouse kitchen the owners then cooked up an omelette over which they drizzled the vinegar and then let Rhodes' sous-chef try it. It drove me (at 22:30 at night) to whip up a small omelette and drizzle some recently acquired sticky vinegar - lovely!! I will be tuning into his next program on Liguria.
