We will be spending a few days at the Campogrande bed and breakfast in Citta della Pieve in August. Does anyone know the area well and have any tips for villages to visit or local trattorie? Charlotte

Ciao Charlotte, I do know the area well as we have a place on Lake Trasimeno. Do visit the lake. If you go to Tuoro Punta Navaccia there is a beach, various cafes and a very good fish ristorante Ciao Ciao. Panicale is a delightful small walled city with a good ristorante or two. Chiusi is an interesting old town with a good Etruscan museum. Our town on the lake is Passignano, which we obviously have a soft spot for. The lake has ferries crossing to the islands. In Citta della Pieve itself there is good ristorante we know Bistrot Del Duca. I am sure others are reccomendable. Have a great time it's a lovely city, all mellowed old brick. Portia

HI Charlotte We visit the lake every year from the UK as visitors, love it in the winter with all the birds on the water, no tourists!!! Assuming you are mobile Monte Del Lago is a lovely interesting village (no shops) as long as you do steps, and walk along the shore if you wish at the bottom. Park at the top don`t try to go down.We have stayed there several times . also on the way there San Feliciano plenty of places to eat,and shops. Going to be HOT, enjoy your stay Masterphoto
