Aqua Verde

Can anyone provide me with more information on the ubiquitous 'aqua verde'? Giovanni who looks after our vines insists they need to be sprayed with this at least twice a season. We use a local farmer who charges about 30 Euros to cover 1 acre of vines and assorted fruit trees. What is this stuff exactly? Can it be used on all plants inc roses etc? Do ferramenta's stock this? Exactly how toxic is it (I have young children)? A

I think that Giovanni refers to the traditional Bordeaux mixture or bouillie bordelaise, a fungicide used mainly on vines although it also helps other plants. It has a certain level of toxicity. Here you have some information on it: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bordeaux_mixture
