Wayward Mail

We send a fair amount of mail to the US from two different post offices here in Lunigiana. In the past three months, three letters to the US containing checks have not arrived. One of our neighbors has had a similar experience mailing to GB. Anyone else? Fred

nah, never send money, cheques in the post.... i thought cheques were almost finished anyway i know there's a proposal to banish them wouldn't it be easier to just make a bank transfer from your pc?

Just don't do it! I have a nightmare scenario where I know that a bill didn't arrive, the regular postwoman was off sick, nothing arrived anywhere, so the bill sender was contacted to ascertain the sum due - but because the pre-printed bolletino had not arrived there was ZERO option to pay this bill without letting it get out of date..... If you have to pay Fedex just do it. (Actually they are evil, too, UPS are better). Carrier pigeons are your best bet.

Thanks all for your input. (sorry about the checks vs cheques; guess you were writing cheques long before we colonists were writing checks) In this case, they were sent to us and we were sending them to a US bank marked for deposit only. Fred
