Car Insurance

Hi, I have a car insurance issue that I'm sure someone will have come across and solved before. My car is right hand drive and currently registered in the UK. I am thinking of bringing it to Italy for a few months next year, but at this stage, don't want to register it here. I enquired with Direct Line here and they said they will only insure cars that are registered in Italy. If I stay with my current insurer then I have to pay each time I need a green card and there may be limits for the amount of time the insurer will issue a green card. Has anyone found a UK insurer where there is an unlimited green card issued or some other easy solution? Thanks! David
