Can neighbours block you from renting

Can neighbours block you from renting out a holiday home? I am considering buying a second home in Italy and using it for myself from time-to-time but also renting it out on Airbnb. It is in a small hamlet with 6-7 other homes that seem to be mostly occupied. I saw two of the neighbours who are older. If I were to renovate it and start renting it out, would they have the power to block my renting it by appealing to the local commune, for example? I would only want respectful people because it will also be my home - not just a rental property and will have some nice things it in. But since one never really knows who one is renting to, it can be difficult to know. But even if the people are nice, they neighbours might not like all the coming and going of "strangers".Has anyone heard of this happening?Cheers.

Thanks. I certainly plan on paying taxes. :) The house has been abandoned since 1981 it seems. And the other neighbours's houses around have a nice upkeep so a friend of mine said that they might prefer an Airbnb situation than one where the house is falling down. It does share walls with two of the neighbours so if it is fixed up well, that might give them additional relief. But one never knows. I work in the wine business so a nice bottle of wine at their door every Christmas certainly cannot hurt either.

Hallo Konuku,No, neoghbours can't block you from renting out your property. However, I suggest to hire a company who supervises everything during your absence (from check-in, check-out, supervision of rentals, emergencies, contact to neighbours if necessary etc...).
