Qualifying for Italian citizenship and

Qualifying for Italian citizenship and BrexitDoes anyone have any information on whether UK citizens resident in Italy would still qualify for Italian citizenship in 4 years (instead of the usual 10 years) after Brexit kicks in?My partner and I have been spending part of our time in Italy - in the lovely Valle d'Aosta - and part in the UK for some years now and have always had the idea that we would eventually end up in Italy fulltime. To date, we've put off formal residence in Italy, but with Brexit looming we're thinking about pushing ahead with this now.Doing research on this, it looks like EU citizens resident in Italy qualify for citizenship in 4 years, and non-EU citizens qualify in 10 years. But it's not clear what happens if we, as UK citizens, are part way through their 4 years as resident when Brexit starts. Would the 4 years still apply or do we shift to the 10 year countdown.Any and all help gratefully appreciated.

Thanks Ugo! That's what we were thinking about doing. The problem is that we might end up trying in 4 or 5 years from now only to find out we have to wait another 5 or so years. We wondered if we might have to give up on Italy for now and move to France instead where we know we have a clear 5 years to qualify.
