Hi Tartuffa - that's a site I've posted it to since it doesn't seem possible to attach photos directly to a post here. I found it on a site about the hotel at the head of the funivia in Gran Sasso. It must once have been a full-size poster, and I don't know where they copied it from. Given that the hotel is under new management and has endless postcards of Mussolini's escape, I reckon they should also reproduce these and other wonderful posters advertisig the ski slopes back in the 30s. Art Deco is my favourite period so they'd have at least one happy customer!

It's obviously a travel poster for ENIT and I think I see Barabino & Graeve Genova 1934 printed on the bottom right hand side of the poster. This would fit in very well as Barabino & Graeve are (or should I say were) very famous Italian printers. I am almost sure they did the Art Deco posters for FIAT. Google S.A.I.G.A. or Barabino e Graeve Genova (or any variation thereof) and see what comes up. Good luck it's a nice image.

Don't know how well this will work, but have just experimented with the image, if you cannot get a copy. Right click on the pic and then save as a JPEG. I used ACDSee photo manager and could enlarge with no major picture loss. I went to 15x23 inches, so it is possible you could save to a memory stick and then get a local photoshop to print it out poster size.

Esme - I couldn't make out the printers' name so that's v useful info. Plus there's apparently a whole world of ephemera collectors out there who may be able to give me more info. You've been a great help and I'll let you know how I get on. Badger - that's all Greek to me but will get teenage son (actually 22 now but you know what I mean) onto it. I did take one image I found up to the local photoshop but it was too small. This one is a better resolution I reckon so may be a goer.....

I thought they did that Fiat Poster! This is driving me mental now - I cant find your poster anywhere online - found just about every other one possible, but not yours Ann. It must be rare - and therefore, will be expensive if you actually find an original linen backed one! The only other thing I can seriously suggest is to contact ENIT - they commissioned these posters so they will (without doubt) have the information somewhere - whether you get a reply and then find someone willing to dig out the information from the archives is another thing.... I can not make out the artists name on the left hand side at the base of the pillar - it looks like Noni, but I just can not read what is printed underneath - if you can, that may be another avenue worth exploring. http://www.enit.it/

I have a lovely large print of an Abruzzo travel poster from 30s ish. Three ladies in raditional costume before an old church done in a sort of deco style. My son bought it as a present a few years ago. He had to send to a place in California which he eventually found on the internet. Sorry don't know which one but they had a number of prints for sale from old travel company adverts of the times.

i got the best image I could with help from techie son and took it to the copyshop who did a superb job so I now have an A2 poster! after more googling I thinkthere may be an original in the cable car housing at gran sasso which is a good excuse to go back there again.. moruzzo Ithink I've just bought the same poster off Amazon.

Ciao, I do not know if you are still intersted to know where to find it... however it is normal that the Gran Sasso giftshop does not have it, because it is the Monti Sibillini National Park emblem. This National Park is in Le Marche and in Umbria, not in Abruzzo. You can try to ask it to the Monti Sibillini National Park giftshop. Unfortunately, only the italian language is available for the merchandising. Ciao from Le Marche (Which is the name of the land where I live)
