I have just come upon this blog, which is written in plain English, and seems to be a reasonably sensible, fairly neutral, overview of what is going on in Italian politics. If you are entirely new to Italian politics, you will probably have to look at various blog posts (it is all archived) until you get a smidgeon of a notion - but it's a good place to start because it doesn't assume a lifetime's involvement in the lore of the diessini or leghisti!http://italpolblog.blogspot.it/2012/10/elections-watch-5-disintegrating-...

Thank you, Fillide. A very interesting blog and the information is fair and neutral. I would go one step further and I would say that Italians not only mistrust their politicians, I think that they are starting to treat them with contempt.
