I am trying to introduce them to our house at the moment, I was thinking of scorpions until I mentioned what I was planning. Why do you not like Gecko's? By the way here is a good Id site for reptiles http://www.herp.it/ Mark

I can't see whats not to like about Gecos! I find reptiles fascinating to the extent that I get extracted from work by watching lizars!I love the way they are so territorial especailly in the Olive trees.I believe one 'attacked' me once as it didnt like me sitting against the tree.It jumped from the tree right onto my head!

here you will see most often the common wall geckohttp://www.geckoweb.org/profile/tarentola-mauritanica you will find that there are plenty unrelated and yet not if you are interested in local reserves here in Abruzzo is a good site http://www.riserveabruzzo.it/ and this area, a natural reserve mentions that it has both the common wall and mediteranean geckos... plus lots of other reptiles...and is reasonably close... in pescara http://cat.regione.abruzzo.it/wai/liv4_dett.php?Lang=1&idl=394
