Has anyone else seen gecos in Abruzzo or any other part of Italy?Last year we saw one running up the wall of a house and in June I spotted one on the bark of a large conifer actually quite near the town centre! It was one of these I think! Sorry about lack of image but I though this site would also interest members of the grouphttp://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=http://www.naturamediterraneo.com/Public/data6/akiller/29Lug07Geco.jpg_200789215149_29Lug07Geco.jpg&imgrefurl=http://www.naturamediterraneo.com/forum/topic.asp%3FTOPIC_ID%3D30180&usg=__IoGhcIJ1lNdqX3aRZa7-8cflLjs=&h=768&w=669&sz=90&hl=en&start=16&um=1&tbnid=BdlsbtfYnichSM:&tbnh=142&tbnw=124&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dgeco%2Bcomune%26hl%3Den%26rls%3Dcom.microsoft:*:IE-SearchBox%26rlz%3D1I7GFRB_en%26sa%3DX%26um%3D1What other spottings are there?

I can't see whats not to like about Gecos! I find reptiles fascinating to the extent that I get extracted from work by watching lizars!I love the way they are so territorial especailly in the Olive trees.I believe one 'attacked' me once as it didnt like me sitting against the tree.It jumped from the tree right onto my head!

here you will see most often the common wall geckohttp://www.geckoweb.org/profile/tarentola-mauritanica you will find that there are plenty unrelated and yet not if you are interested in local reserves here in Abruzzo is a good site http://www.riserveabruzzo.it/ and this area, a natural reserve mentions that it has both the common wall and mediteranean geckos... plus lots of other reptiles...and is reasonably close... in pescara http://cat.regione.abruzzo.it/wai/liv4_dett.php?Lang=1&idl=394
