info about Puglia please

Hi,am getting married next Sept hopefully in Puglia.I am desperate for any info/advice about the area. I have been to Lecce to look at some beautiful venues but found the surrounding areas were not suitable for ourselves and our guests to stay as everywhere was too far from any nice little towns.I am very interesed in Polignano and its surrounding towns.Can someone tell me if this would be an ideal place to stay?We are looking for a bustling, traditional,pretty,little town by the sea with a variety of good accommodation,nice restaurants, trattorias,bars and shops but also not too touristy.We are planning on going back over in 2 weeks and want to make sure we are going to travel to the right place.Would we be better going to Otranto or Gallipoli perhaps?I know the beaches are nicer with their white sand but do they fit the description we are looking for?Would greatly appreciate any help,thanks, Sarah
