Hi,I'm new here, and have done quite a bit of reading here and it seems like there is some valuable and reliable information on this forum.I have been married for 2.5 years to my husband who has dual Italian citizenship. We live in London. I have made enquiries regarding dual citizenship for myself and the consulate in London has advised I obtain the following: Italian official certificate of the records of marriage (ESTRATTO PER RIASSUNTO DELL’ATTO DI MATRIMONIO) from the commune after 3 years of marriage. They have said they do not assist with this. How do I go about contacting them if I do not speak Italian, and if I was to write to them how much information do I give them? Does anyone know of an agency that can assist with this? Also, do you know how long this will take to request / process (I need to plan so that my other docs like penal certificate do not become out of date)Many thanks for your help in advance!!Charlie

Hi, I have asked the certificato to my Comune before and it was a matter of minutes... I cannot remeber if they faxed it to me or sent it through the post. There was a small charge to be paied thought... is that the issue? Surely you can't pay them with a card as they are unlikely to accept it... maybe you could send them the fee with the post? I am just specultaing though. If you want to draft a letter I am happy to translate it for youPaola

HiI have a similar problem in that I need to get this document from the Comune Cattolica for my wife's application for citizenship. The embassy here in London weren't very helpful.I was born in South Africa but my grandparents were Italian. They never passed down the language so I am also at the distinct disadvantage of not being able to phone up the Comune directly and talk to them. My Italian is patchy at best!Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!
