heres quite a simplistic video from you tube regarding houses and the types of property that are secure its a thing i used to go on about a lot.. this explains better than most words.. and is to my mind before you go looking for a home anywhere in Italy an essential explanation of what to look for and not.. obviously not complete but basic essentials.. to my mind the fact that now on wikipedia they also list alll seismic levels regarding each comune in italy ..ie be wise and if you can avoid class 1.. if you are determined to accept the risks then this video is essential to view and make sure at least the basic structure falls within whats shown.. or the costs of renovation will reduce your bank balance dramatically you tube construction video

That is a simple but straightforward video on what to consider in buying a house here. Pictures do speak louder than words! Their site, edurisk.it, also has some good info. I guess that is why I bought a house that is several hundred years old and has endured numerous earthquakes in that time period.
